Chris Gelken
host of Today
British journalist Chris Gelken is the veteran on the team with more than 30-years experience in broadcast, print and online media.

Chris first visited China in 1986 and was on hand to cover the opening of the first Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet in the capital, Beijing.

His career has taken him to more than 45 countries and territories as a photographer, reporter, producer, and news anchor.

Chris joined China Radio International after a year in Iran as a program host and news anchor with PressTV.

He lives in Beijing with his television-journalist wife, Brian the dog and Socks the cat.
