Chinese Childrenˇ¦s Choir of Beijing

 THE PRESTIGOUS CHINA CHILDRENˇ¦S CHOIR OF BEIJING WILL

PERFORM IN HONOR OF THE 2012 CHINESE NEW YEAR

HONOLULU, HI ˇV Kicking off the Chinese New Year will be one of the worldˇ¦s finest musical ensembles, the China Childrenˇ¦s Choir. They are performing at the Kawaiahaˇ¦o Church on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the performance are $20 through Air & Sea Travel Center at 951-9800.

The concert night is going to be an amazing experience with musical styles that include Chinese, American, European, and Hawaiian music. The 42 member choir, with performers ranging from ages 6 to 14, is led by conductors, Yang Hong Nian and Yang Li, accompanied by Tang Chong Qing. Their numerous honors are highlighted by their singing of the Olympic Hymn at the 2008 Summer Olympics and winning 1st place at the 2010 childrenˇ¦s choir category at the 24th Bela Bartok International Choir Competition and Folklore Festival in Hungary.

Mayor Peter Carlisle will welcome the choir at a special reception at Honolulu City Hall on January 27th, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. Sponsors for the event are the City and County of Honolulu, the United Chinese Society of Honolulu, L&L Barbecue, ABC Stores, Roberts of Hawaii, Air & Sea Travel Center, and Mr. You Soukaseum.
